Germany to End Oil Imports by End of 2022

According to Annalena Baerbock, foreign minister of Germany, the country is all set for ending the oil imports from Russia by the end of 2022 and while speaking after meeting her Baltic counterparts in the region of Latvia and she said that, Germany is going to decrease the oil imports of Russia by the beginning of the summer season.

Annalena Baerbock also said, Germany has planned for decreasing the Russian oil imports to zero by the end of 2022 before starting to reduce back the gas imports gradually, and she has also urged the other member nations of the European Union for doing the same in response to the invasion of Ukraine by Russia.

She also said that, their common exit has been their common strength and Germany is also going to be completely phasing out the energy imports from Russia starting from coal by the end of the summer season and they are also going to halve the oil and will also be at zero by the end of 2022.

She added that, their European answer to the war between Russia and Ukraine of the aggression should also lie in the process of strengthening the European Sovereignty and not just for the energy issues. This also means that, they should not only make themselves dependent on the suppliers and phasing out the imports completely but they should switch completely to the renewable energies.
