Samsung To Offer Self-Repair Program For Its Devices

Samsung is soon going to be joining Apple for allowing the owners of the company’s smartphones for making their own repairs. The company has announced that, it is going to be launching a new program for the purpose of supporting the owners of the Galaxy smartphones, who wants to repair or fix their devices by themselves.

Samsung is going to be partnering with iFixit, which is an online repair community on the program, which is going to apply to the devices of Galaxy S20 and S21 along with the Samsung Galaxy Tab S7+.

The owners of the devices are initially going to be able for replacing the display assemblies, along with the back glass and the charging ports and then they can return the older parts for the purpose of recycling.

Ramon Gregory, senior vice president of customer care at Samsung Electronics America said, at Samsung, they are now creating more ways for the consumers for the purpose of extending the lifespan of their products along with the premium care experiences.

This plan of Samsung has come amid the increasing effort of the company for supporting the right of the consumers for repairing their own devices and in July 2021, the Federal Trade Commission has also adopted a policy statement, which is supporting the right to repair including the new regulations and increased enforcement.
