US Witnessing Increase in Covid-19 Cases in Northeast Region

The novel corona virus cases have been ticking up again in the northeast region of the United States as the BA.2 Omicron covid-19 subvariant has been taking hold of the region. The northeast region of the United States has now recorded at least 126 new corona virus infections per 100,000 people last week, which has been doubling the rate.

The new corona virus infection in the northwest region of the United States had been more than twice as in the western, middle-west and southwest region of the country, and according to the federal data, the BA.2 subvariant of the Omicron covid-19 cases in the United States.

As per the latest data from the US CDC, the BA.2 subvariant of Omicron is making up more than 85 percent of the novel corona virus cases in the United States, and the BA.2 subvariant has been though for being around 30 percent more transmissible than the original Omicron strain of the covid-19 virus.

The government of the United States announced that, it is going to be extending the mask order across the country for the public transit for around 15 days as it has been monitoring the increase in the novel corona virus. In order for the process of assessing the potential impact that these increasing cases has on the serious disease including the hospitalizations and deaths, along with the capacity of the healthcare system.
