Pfizer Covid-19 Vaccine Less Effective Against Covid-19 in 5 to 11 Years Old Kids

According to a study, the effectiveness of the corona virus vaccine developed by Pfizer for the children has waned very fast during the increase in the Omicron covid-19 variant in the United States specifically among the children coming under the age group of 5 years to 11 years, but it had still been protective against the serious disease.

The researchers have estimated that, the effectiveness of the Pfizer corona virus vaccine against the novel corona virus hospitalizations and cases, and the researchers have also used the data from 852,384 fully vaccinated children coming in the age group of 17 to 17 years of age and 365,502 children coming in the age group of 5 years to 11 years during the period of December 2021 and January 2022.

The study has also found that, the effectiveness of the corona virus shots of Pfizer against the covid-19 infection caused by the Omicron corona virus variant has been decreased from 68 percent to only 12 percent in the children coming under the age group of 5 years to 11 years within one month of being fully vaccinated.

The effectiveness of the vaccine against the corona virus hospitalizations in the same age group had been higher but it has also been decreased substantially, and the study also found that, as the effectiveness of the novel corona virus vaccine for the teens and older children has been decreased slowly than it has been doing for the small children.
