France’s Mane Kancor Promotes Sustainable Sourcing of Mint by Partnering With Farmers

The continuously increasing demand for the organic and natural products across the globe during the novel corona virus pandemic has been responsible for encouraging the international producers of the products based on the mint for turning to the country of India.

By considering this increasing demand for the products of high quality mint, the company ‘Mane Kancor Ingredients Pvt. Ltd, which has been one of the biggest flavour and fragrance companies in the world, has now been encouraging the sustainable supply chains from the mint in the fragrance and flavour industry. The company’s pioneering sustainable program of Mint that was introduced in 2016 has been now gaining the global attention as the company has been addressing the right of Sustainable Development Goals (SDG’s) starting from the nursery to the distillation.

Geemon Korah, director and CEO of Mane Kancor said, it all started when they have realized that, the farmers had been shifting away from the cultivation of Mint because of the continuous increase in the cost of the inputs and cultivation, along with the climate change, decreased productivity and fluctuations in the market.

He also said that, by introducing the modern practices for the cultivation, the company has now approached the farmers of the Mint and it is also providing support to the cultivation right from the nursery stage, and the company has also introduced a technology called as the Early Mint Technology (EMT) with the guidance and help of the different scientists.
