Monkeypox Virus Case Confirmed In The United Kingdom

The health authorities of the United Kingdom have confirmed a case of the Monkeypox, which has been a virus passed from the infected animals like the rodents to the humans and in someone along with a recent travel history to the country of Nigeria, where they are believed for having caught it.

The UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) said, monkeypox has been a rare viral infection, which does not spread easily between the people and has usually been a mild self-limiting sickness and most of the people have been recovering with a few weeks and although serious illness can possibly occur in some of the cases.

Dr. Colin Brown, director of clinical and emerging infections at the UKHSA, it has been an important for emphasizing that, monkeypox does not spread easily between the people and the overall risk to the common people has been very low.

He also said that, they are now working with the NHS England and NHS Improvement (NHSEI) for contacting the individuals, who have had some close contact with the case prior to the confirmation of their infection for the purpose of assessing them as it has been necessary and providing advice. The infected patient is now being treated in a specialist isolation unit at the St. Thomas Hospital along with a strict procedures of the prevention of the infection.
