Visionable and Verizon Business Expand their Connected Healthcare Partnership

BUSINESS HEALTHCARE

Verizon Business and Visionable, a leading UK-based health technology company, announced that they are expanding their partnership that will enable both companies to work on wide range of connected healthcare solutions, through the patented technology of Visionable powered by 5G Ultra Wideband and 5G Edge networks of Verizon in the United States.

Both Verizon Business and Visionable are working together on a secure next-generation digital healthcare partnership platform that enables healthcare professionals to access data, with partnership and sharing resources within the EMEA and Asia-Pacific regions.

The partnership will address some of the biggest challenges in healthcare, including connecting frontline responders to specialist doctors during several emergencies, and enabling access to care for patients who need long-term support.

Scott Lawrence, senior VP for Verizon Global Solutions, said the healthcare industry generates a large amount of data, but the ability to make good use of that data has long been hampered by network architecture, which cannot handle it efficiently, cost-efficiently, and securely.

According to Scott Lawrence, through the combination of 5G and Edge computing, professionals and healthcare facilities will have access to secure and real-time connectivity, creating a new link between patients and doctors. He added that, as a result, diseases could be diagnosed and treated more quickly, and medical costs can potentially decrease.
