US Reports First Case of Omicron Covid-19 Variant

The government of the United States has announced the first confirmed cases of the Omicron covid-19 variant in a traveler, who has recently returned from the country of South Africa, and this has been the first known case of the new corona virus variant in the United States.

On Wednesday, 1st December 2021, Jeff Zients said, the US CDC has confirmed the first case of the Omicron corona virus variant detected in the United States. Jeff Zients said, they know what it takes for controlling the spread of the novel corona virus which includes getting vaccinated along with taking public health measures like wearing mas and social distancing.

He added that, they are still remained steadfast in their fight against the novel corona virus, and they are going to continue to take guidance from the science and also the proven health measures for the purpose of keeping the people of the country safe.

The first known Omicron covid-19 variant case in the United States has been a fully vaccinated person in California, who had returned to the country from South Africa on 22nd November 2021 and he had tested positive for the virus seven days later, and the peioe had mild symptoms and had been in self quarantine, as said by Dr. Anthony Fauci.

Rochelle P. Walensky said, the United States has been significantly increased the genomic sequencing to around 80,000 samples every week, which has been more than any other nation in the world.
