US Government Planning to Launch Covid-19 Vaccine for Children Under 5 Years of Age

According to the US CDC, the government of the United States has been planning to launch the novel corona virus vaccine shots for the children under the age of five years from 21st February 2022.

The drug producers of the United States said that, they have submitted the data by supporting the authorization at the request of the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) of the United States in order for addressing an urgent need for public health in that age group.

The outside advisors of the US FDA have been scheduled to be meeting on 15th February 2022 for the purpose of discussing whether to recommend the regulator of the country for authorizing the covid-19 vaccine, and the rollout of the novel corona virus vaccine for the children under the age of five years, which has been the only age group that is not yet eligible for the vaccine shots.

According to a document by the US CDC, the government of the United Kingdom has been planning to ship an initial of 10 million doses of the covid-19 vaccine developed by Pfizer and BioNTech to the states along with several other entities before the end of month of February 2022.

The US CDC said that, there are around 18 million children between 6 months to 4 years of age in the country, and there is going to be additional supply beyond the first ten million vaccine doses.
