US Government Launched Investigation into Autopilot Technology of Tesla

The government of the United States of America has now opened a formal investigation into the driver-assistance system of the Tesla cars, that are known as the Autopilot after a series of the collisions with the parked emergency vehicles, and the investigation is going to be covering around 765,000 vehicles, and around everything, which the automobile company ‘Tesla’ has been in the United States since the beginning of the model year 2014.

Out of all the crashes happened, which were identified by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) as being a part of the investigation, and around 17 people had also been injured along with one fatality.

The NHTSA said that, it has also identified around 11 crashes since the year 2018 in which the cars of Tesla on the Autopilot or the Traffic Aware Cruise Control system have been hitting the vehicles of the company at the scenes, where the first responders have also been using the flashing lights, along with the flares and also an illuminated arrow board that have been warning the hazards.

The agency also said, most of the incidents have also been taking place after the  crash scenes, which were encountered have also been including the measures related to then scene control like the first responder vehicle lights, road cones and flares, and this investigation has also been covering up the entire existing model line-up of Tesla, which has also been including the model X,Y,S and also the Tesla Model 3 starting from model years of 2014 to 2021.
