Fibocom, a global provider of IoT wireless solutions and wireless communication modules, announced the launch of the artificial intelligence smart module SCA825-W. The premium-tier System-on-Chip (SoC) QCS8250 is powered by Qualcomm Technologies. The module is designed to meet the requirements of AIoT scenarios like HD video conferences, with cloud gaming, HD live streaming, edge computing, drones, robotics, and so on.
The combination of artificial intelligence (AI) and IoT has opened up new possibilities for industries requiring automated decision making and data analysis. The demand for 5G AIoT solutions is also expected to skyrocket, with shipments of 5G AIoT modules reaching a CAGR of 84 percent between 2022 and 2030.
The Artificial Intelligence smart module is bound to play an important role in the industry, with the potential to empower a large range of compute-intensive use cases. Equipped with the Qualcomm QCS8250 IoT solution, a cutting-edge artificial intelligence smart module SCA825-W of Fibocom integrates an octa-core Kryo 585 CPU, a dedicated NPU 230 (Neural Processing Unit), as well as Hexagon DSP for machine learning.
The module can also deliver a computing power of around 15 TOPS (Tera Operations per Second), enabling complex artificial intelligence computing performance with exceptional features.
