The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) of the United States has set 14th and 15th June 2022 as the new dates of meeting for the purpose of reviewing the emergency authorization request of Moderna Inc. for the novel corona virus vaccine for children between the age group of 6 months to 5 years and covid-19 vaccine of Pfizer for the children between the age of 6 months to 4 years.
US FDA said that, the new dates for the company’s paediatric corona virus vaccine advisory committee meetings is now going to be 14th June 2022 and 15th June 2022. US FDA said that, they know that, the parents of the children and anxious for them for the purpose of determining if these corona virus vaccines are effective and safe. In the revelation of the information by Pfizer, the data and anticipated dates of the company for the submission, they now believe that, they are going to be completing the review of both the request of EUA.
The meeting on 14th June 2022 is going to be considering the request for the emergency use authorization of Moderna for the children of the particular age group. Dr. Ashish Jha, corona virus response coordinator of White House said, he is expecting a US FDA decision on the authorization of the covid-19 vaccine of Moderna for the children under the age of five years within the upcoming weeks.
