US CDC Issues Health Alert As Mysterious Liver Disease Spreads in Kids

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) of the United States has issued a public health alert to the physicians across the United States in which, the CDC has asked the doctors for being on the lookout for the mysterious cases of the severe liver disease in the children.

On Thursday, 21st April 2022, the US CDC said that, nine cases of the hepatitis or liver inflammation have been recorded in the children in Alabama of 1 to 6 years of age and more two cases have been recorded in the region of North Carolina.

There have been dozens of cases have been recorded in the recent weeks in the children in the United Kingdom and across the continent of Europe and the usual viruses that are responsible for causing the infectious hepatitis had not been seen in the cases and the doctors and scientists are also considering several other possible sources.

Graham Cooke, a professor of the infectious diseases at the Imperial College of London said, the mild hepatitis has been very common in the children followed by a range of the viral infections but, whatever is being seen at the moment has been quite different and some of the children in the United Kingdom have now required the specialist care at the liver units and a few have also needed a liver transplant.
