WORLD

The government of the United States has announced a new round of financial and military aid to Ukraine as it continues to battle Russian army in the south and eastern regions of the country. The Pentagon announced 1 billion dollars in military aid, and separately the World Bank said, it was also providing 4.5 billion dollars in budgetary assistance to the government of Ukraine, which is financed by the United States.

The new weapons package includes high mobility artillery rocked systems, artillery ammunition, and mortar, demolition equipment, explosives, and Javelin anti-tank missile systems.

Colin Kahl, US defense department under-secretary for policy, said as they have made it clear at every level of the administration, they are committed to continued security assistance for Ukraine as they stand up to the unjustified and unprovoked invasion of Russia.

Colin Kahl also said Russia has not achieved any of the objectives of Vladimir Putin, president of Russia, and noted that Russia does not succeed in capturing Ukraine. He also said the Russian forces have made some gains in the eastern region, although not very much in the past weeks. But this comes at extraordinary cost to the military of Russia because of how well the military of Ukraine has performed, and all the assistance the Ukrainian military has got.
