United Kingdom Marks First Anniversary of Deployment of Oxford-AstraZeneca Covid-19 Vaccine

On 4th January 2021, the United Kingdom became the first country in the world for administering the novel corona virus vaccine developed by the Oxford University and AstraZeneca, and since then, around 50 million corona virus vaccines developed by the company ‘AstraZeneca’ have been administered in the United Kingdom, responsible for saving countless lives, along with keeping the hospitalizations low and also decreasing the pressure on the National Health Service (NHS) of the United Kingdom.

For the purpose of marking the anniversary, Sajid Javid, health secretary of the United Kingdom has also visited a corona virus vaccination centre based in London for the purpose of thanking all the hard working staff of the UK NHS along with the volunteers for delivering the jabs.

Sajid Javid said that, backed by the funding from the government of the United Kingdom, the Oxford University and AstraZeneca corona virus vaccine has played a crucial role in their fight against the novel corona virus, and has also been responsible for saving countless number of lives in the United Kingdom and around the world.

Sajid Javid also said that, he is feeling extremely proud of their researchers and the scientists, who have been responsible for the development of some of the most effective corona virus vaccine and treatment during the novel corona virus pandemic and the UK NHS for the roll out of the vaccines in the country.

Sajid Javid added that, the covid-19 vaccination and booster programme of the United Kingdom has been world leading but because of the rapid spread of the Omicron covid-19 variant, it is very important that the people of the country to come forward and get their vaccine.
