UK Reports More 104 Monkeypox Cases

The health officials of the United Kingdom have now detected another 104 cases of the monkeypox disease in the United Kingdom, which has become the biggest outbreak beyond Africa of the rare disease.

The Health Security Agency of the United Kingdom said, there are now 470 new cases of the monkeypox disease across the United Kingdom with vast majority in the gay or bisexual men. The scientists has also warned that, anyone has been susceptible for catching the monkeypox disease if they have been in close and physical contact with an infected person, their clothing and also bed sheets.

According to the UK data, so far, 99 percent of the monkeypox cases have been in men and most of them are in London. In the month of May 2022, WHO said, the outbreak of monkeypox in Europe and beyond had likely been spreading by sex at two raves in Belgium and Spain.

Past week, the World Health Organization (WHO) said, 1,285 cases of the monkeypox disease had been reported from 28 countries, where the monkeypox had been reported from 28 countries where the disease was not known to the endemic and till now, no deaths have been reported outside of continent of Africa.

After the United Kingdom, the largest numbers of the monkeypox cases have also been reported in Germany, Spain and Canada.
