UK: Bupa, Babylon Extend Partnership to Deliver Digital Health Services

Bupa and Babylon have announced that they have extended their partnership agreement for a further three years to deliver digital health services to 2.3 million Bupa health insurance customers in the United Kingdom. Bupa and Babylon have been in partnership since 2015, when access to the Babylon app for Bupa UK was launched. Since the launch, there have been more than 360,000 Babylon app downloads by Bupa UK Insurance customers.

Complementing the capabilities and provider network offering of Bupa, Bablyon provides digital services within Bupa, including 24/7 virtual consultations, My Health, and Symptoms. These products help user to better understand their health symptoms, gain insights, and access relevant health information into their current and future health risks. These products are also available to all Bupa customers in the United Kingdom.

James Sherwood, general manager for operations and healthcare management at Bupa UK Insurance, said that having rapid access to GP care is very important for their customers to support their everyday wellbeing and health. They have seen increasing use of the service over the past two years, with about 8,000 appointments a week. They are happy to continue working with Babylon to enhance their digital services for their customers.
