TikTok Partners with Shopify to Let Users Shop Directly from the App

The users of TikTok, a video making mobile application will soon be able to purchase the products directly through the short videos on the app, and this has been something, which the users had only been able to do through the advertisements till now.

On Tuesday, 24th August 2021, Shopify, e-commerce company based in Canada said, the various businesses are going to be able to add a shopping tab on the TikTok profiles of the businesses for the purpose of creating a mini store in front of the users, that has been linked directly to the online store of the businesses helping the users to check the different products.

The shopping tool on the TikTok application, which is still under testing, is now available to the merchants based in the countries including Canada, the United States and United Kingdom and this shopping feature is going to be rolled out to several more countries in the upcoming months, and the company ‘Shopify’ has already made a deal with the video making app ‘TikTok’ that has been responsible in letting the different merchants to create some shoppable video advertisements, that will significantly responsible for driving the customers to their online stores.

ByteDance, the company that owns TikTok based in Beijing, has been already running a thriving social media marketplace on the application ‘Douyin’, which is the company’s twin video making application for the marketplace of China, and purchasing the products through the social media websites are not common in the United States yet, even though Instagram and Pinterest are also planning to launch such features.
