SpectrumX Launches Sporicidal Body Wash for Healthcare Facilities in UK

HEALTHCARE

SpectrumX, a healthcare and pharmaceutical company based in the UK, announces the launch of Spectricept HLD Body MIST, a skin-safe sporicidal disinfectant body wash that targets pathogen, including Clostridiodes difficile spores that can lead to an antimicrobial-resident bacterium causing diarrhoea, and other severe health-related issues. Clostridiodes difficile can be the main reason of persistent waves of infection in the healthcare facilities.

SpectrumX intends to introduce the body wash in care homes, hospitals, and other healthcare facilities to control the quantity of Clostridiodes difficile spores on skin and surfaces. Spectricept HLD Body MIST is a high-level, and pH-neutral disinfectant that was infused with the stabilized form by hypochlorous acid (HOCl+) of the company.

According to Public Health England (PHE), new cases of CDI have increased from January 2021 to May 2022. CDI is the most common cause of infectious diarrhoea in hospitalized patients. These infections pose a serious threat to the elderly and other vulnerable patient groups in healthcare settings, including nursing homes, long-term care facilities, and hospitals.

The disease occurs in 20 percent of patients that are initially treated with antibiotics, and the risk of another infection increases to 45 percent to 60 percent. SpectrumX aims to promote the sustainability and decrease high rates of PPE waste in healthcare facilities from body wash.
