Grab, a technology company, announced it has launched its GrabScholar program to provide 1 million US dollars’ worth of scholarships and bursaries annually in Singapore. The GrabScholar programme comes under the GrabForGood Fund that supports initiatives aimed at improving the lives of the delivery riders, drivers, and merchants of Grab, and also other communities in Southeast Asia.

This program will cover expenses related to studies and tuition for underprivileged children to attend primary, secondary, and vocational schools as well as universities.

According to Grab, internship opportunities will also be offered to tertiary students to develop their professional aptitude, and prepare them for full-time roles when they finally graduate.

With GrabScholar launched in Indonesia in July 2022, the programme is an expanded effort to provide support the broader communities across the Southeast region of Asia. The GrabScholar program is in addition to the existing scholarship and bursary initiatives, which are offered to the children of drivers, merchants, and delivery partners of Grab in Thailand and Singapore.
