Samsung Enters European Market with Vodafone 5G Network Deal in United Kingdom

On Monday, 14th June 2021, the telecom giant of United Kingdom ‘Vodafone’ has selected the South Korean ‘Samsung Electronics’ for the purpose of supplying its 5G network equipment in United Kingdom. On Monday, both the companies said, the deal is going to be a breakthrough for the company ‘Samsung’ in the telecoms market of Europe.

The mobile operators of Europe have been increasingly considering the company Samsung as a replacement form the Huawei Technologies of China. The financial terms of the agreement had not been disclosed, and the government of United Kingdom has already given the orders to all remove all the equipment of Huawei from the country’s 5G network by the end of 2027, that has been representing a campaign of United States against Huawei Technologies on the security risks.

A senior executive of the company said, Samsung has been backing on the continent of Europe for the purpose of maintaining the growth in the network equipment business, and the company still has a very long way to go ahead for catching the dominance of Nokia and Ericsson, and he also said that, the company Samsung is having a well-rounded 5G RAN portfolio across the fixed wireless access, mobile broadband and private 5G networks, because of which Samsung can be seen a real contender.

There are several telecom operators, which are getting ready for a new approach to the wireless network architecture known as Open RAN, which is responsible for allowing the mobile operators for mixing and matching the equipment for the different suppliers along with reducing the costs and improving flexibility.
