One of the two categories RRR was up for, SS Rajamouli’s blockbuster Naatu Naatu won Best Original Song. It did not win the 1985 award for Best Non-English Language Film, which went to Argentina. All Quiet on the Western Front (Germany), Close (Belgium), and Decision to Leave (South Korea) are among the other nominees in the category.
The film’s director and stars, SS Rajamouli, Jr. NTR, and Ram Charan—who is accompanied by his wife Upasana Kamineni—are going to the Golden Globe Awards to represent RRR. In this 1920s period drama, Jr. NTR and Ram Charan play freedom fighters Alluri Seetharamaraju and Komaram Bheem, respectively. Ajay Devgn and Alia Bhatt, in addition to British actors Ray Stevenson, Alison Doody, and Olivia Morris, are in the cast.
At the New York Film Critics Circle Awards, Rajamouli was named Best Director for RRR, which grossed more than 1,200 crore worldwide. RRR has also been submitted for consideration in a number of Oscar categories, and it is anticipated that it will be nominated in at least one, if not more.
