Report: Microsoft to Purchase Cybersecurity Company RiskIQ

According to the reports, the technology giant ‘Microsoft Corporation’, might be purchasing RiskIQ, a cybersecurity company in the United States, for over 500 million dollars in cash and the company Microsoft is likely going to announce the acquisition in the up-coming days.

The company RiskIQ, based in California, US, has been responsible in providing a software based on cloud technology as a service for the organizations for the purpose of detecting the malware, fraud, phishing, along with several other online security threats. According to the reports, the company ‘RiskIQ’ has raised a total of around 83 million dollars in the funding for over five rounds.

The company has been funded by six investors, which includes Georgian and Battery Ventures, which are also the most recent investors of the company, and the customers or clients of the company RiskIQ has been reportedly including BMW, Facebook, US Postal Service, BNP Paribas and the American Express Corporation.

Both Microsoft and RiskIQ did not responded immediately to a request for making any comments on the acquisition, and the company Microsoft has been reportedly adding new and advanced features of security to the products of the company, that includes the Azure Cloud Services and Windows.

In June 2021, Microsoft Corporation has also announced the acquisition of the ReFirm Labs, without showcasing the amount for the purchase, and the company said, this acquisition is going to be responsible for marking the future step in their journey and ability to provide help in securing the customers of the company from the chip to the cloud, that will be backed by over 3,500 defenders at Microsoft Corporation.
