Porsche to Partner with Sime Darby for its First Assembly Facility Outside Europe

The automobile company ‘porsche’ is going to partner with Sime Darby for the purpose of assembling the sports cars of Porsche for the automobile market of Malaysia only and production of the sports cars has been scheduled to begin in 2022.

According to a joint Statement, the vehicle production and assembly plant of Sime Darby is going to be the first assembly plant of the sports car producer ‘Porsche’ outside of the continent of Europe, and Sime Darby has been the partner of choice for Germany’s Porsche in the country of Malaysia from the past 11 years, which is representing the company ‘Porsche’ as the company’s exclusive retailer and distributor for the sports car manufacturer.

Datuk Jeffri Salim Davidson, CEO of Sime Darby Group said, this partnership with the sports car company has been marking a coming of the age of the relationship with the brand, and he also said that, for being entrusted to assemble the cars for one of the most admired sports cars of both the brands that has been speaking the volumes of the highly competent and qualified talent of Malaysia, which they are having at the Sime Darby company, along with their ability for providing some meaningful value to their customers.

He also said, the assembly portfolio has been an important element in their growth strategy, and they are also pleased for extending their relationship with the company ‘Porsche’ from the distribution and retail for including the assembly of the plant.
