Pfizer and BioNTech Asks US Regulators To Approve 4th Covid-19 Jab For Seniors

Pfizer and BioNTech has now asked the regulators of the United States for the purpose of authorizing an additional booster dose of the company’s novel corona virus vaccine for the seniors saying that, the data from Israel has been suggesting the senior or old adults is going to be benefited.

Currently, the government of the United States has been urging the two primary shots of the vaccine followed by a booster dose for every older than 12 years of age and the new application has also been seeking to add a fourth shot of the vaccine only for the people over 65 years of age that has been hit very hard by the novel corona virus pandemic.

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) of the United States and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) of US will have approve the request of the company and if they approve then the main question will possibly be how soon the senior people will be advised for getting their shot of the vaccines.

As the health authorities of the United States are saying that, the novel corona virus vaccinations are going to continue for offering strong protection against some serious illness, which they have not held up as well against the mild infections of covid-19 especially the cases caused by the omicron covid-19 variant.

Albert Bourla, chief executive officer of Pfizer said that, the protection that people are getting from the third shot of the vaccine has been good enough for decreasing the hospitalizations and deaths but it is not that much good against in the increase in the infections.
