Meta’s CTO, Meta Working on Developing Web Version of Horizon Worlds

Andrew “Boz” Bosworth, CTO of Meta said, the company is working on a web version of the social virtual reality Horizon Worlds platform, and this expansion is going to be allowing the users for trying out the Horizon Worlds without the need to use the Quest VR headsets that has currently been the only way for accessing the virtual world.

The tweet of the CTO of Meta regarding the web version of the platform had been a part of a thread defending the 47.5 percent cut of sales of Meta in the Horizon Worlds. The 47.5 percent figure has been including a platform fee of 30 percent for the purchases that were made through the Quest Store of Meta.

Andrew Bosworth said that, when the web version of the Horizon Worlds is launched, the fee for the sales is going to be 25 percent because it is going to avoid the 30 percent cut of Quest Store and he also noted that, this percentage has been at a much lower rate as compared to several other similar platforms.

He said, they are now making good on their goal for the purpose of ensuring that, the developers are having a path for the real financial success on their platform and in the past, there is still a lot of work to be done and they are continuing to partner closely with the developers and creators for enabling them to earn the meaningful revenue.
