Meta Launches VR Headset worth $1,500 Targeting Working Professionals

Meta Platforms Inc. has launched its newest virtual reality (VR) headset, which a foray into the world of high-end virtual reality devices that are designed to help working professionals and creators to adopt vision of Meta for an immersive digital future.

The Meta Quest Pro, which is the company’s newest offering in a product line earlier branded as Oculus. The Quest Pro includes a number of technological advancements from the Quest 2 headset of Meta that was launched in late 2020.

The new headset is much more costly than its predecessor, and it will cost 1,500 dollars, which is three time costlier than the Quest 2, in part as the company is targeting more serious working professionals. With the Meta Quest Pro, the company is seeking to transcend the notion that virtual reality is primarily made for gamers, an effort to broaden its audience.

Mark Zuckerberg, chief executive officer of Meta, said that it is work focused, and the ideal customers for the Quest Pro will either be people who just want high-end VR device, or people who are trying to get their work done.

Some of the new features of Quest Pro are built for the work-focused audience, and will be used for people taking meetings in virtual reality while working remotely.
