Lewis Capaldi’s Someone You Loved Become Most Streamed Song in UK

Someone You Loved by Lewis Capaldi has become the most-streamed song of all time in the United Kingdom. The song has overtaken Ed Sheeran’s Shape of You, and it has been played 562 million times, including both video and audio streams.

The singer celebrated the news by calling himself the king of streaming. Lewis Capaldi said that there are no hard feelings for other singers, but he just had to take this one. On beating Ed Sheeran’s record, the singer said that, Ed Sheeran is a man who is like a brother to him, and he has been a mentor.

The New Musical Express’s advertising manager, Percy Dickins, thought a chart would attract new advertisers to the publication, so he compiled the top 12 from a survey of 20 record stores.

The Official Charts said that a total of 4.55 billion singles, 683 billion audio streams, and 128 billion video streams have been consumed in the United Kingdom since the chart started. A total of 1,404 songs have reached number one till now, including She Loves You by The Beatles, and Queen’s Bohemian Rhapsody, along with the Spice Girls’ Wannabe.
