JSW Steel USA Begins Phase 2 Upgrade of Plate Mill Factory in Texas, US

On Monday, 1st November 2021, JSW Steel said, the subsidiary ‘JSW Steel USA’ has started the second phase upgrade of the company’s plate mill facility or factory, which is located at Baytown in the region of Texas, USA, and this project, which has been estimated to be completed by 2023, is now being carried out by JSW Steel USA, as said by the company in a statement.

Parth Jindal, director of JSW Steel USA said, the continuation of these upgrades of strategic capital at their facilities in the United States are going to be responsible in strengthening the position of JSW Steel USA as a low-cost and high-quality provider of the manufactured and melted products.

According to a statement, this project involves addition of a 4-Hi finishing mill, along with the pre-leveler, accelerated cooling system, cooling beds and the new roll shop, and Parth Jindal said, this project has also been a part of the 260 million dollars investment, which has been committed by JSW for the purpose of enhancing the quality of their products, along with improving the yields, productivity, and also the total cost-effectiveness of the company’s plate mill based in Baytown.

Mark Bush, chief executive officer of JSW USA said, once the project will be completed, it is going to be putting the JSW USA in a position for delivering the higher quality products, along with opportunities for entering into the new markets.
