A group of the creators and collectors of the non-fungible token (NFT) is soon going to be able for displaying their tokens on Instagram. Mark Zuckerberg, chief executive officer of Meta said that, the company is now testing the NFTs on the platform along with the similar functionality that is coming soon to Facebook.
Adam Mosseri, head of Instagram said that, a small group of the users of the United States is going to be having the ability for displaying the NFTs on their feed, stories and also in the messages. The NFT details have also been displayed in a similar way for tagging the profiles and the products and have also been named as the digital collectibles and by clicking on the tag is going to be displaying the details like the name of the owner and creator.
Adam Mosseri also said that, the test has been very small to start so that Instagram can possibly learn from the community and in an attempt for tackling the distrust of a large social networking platform jumping into the NFTs and he has also been bringing up a tension between the large companies such as Instagram.
Adam Mosseri also said that, he want to acknowledge the upfront that, the NFTs and the blockchain technologies and Web3 more broadly and are all about the distribution of the trust and power. But Instagram has fundamentally been a centralized platform.
