Hyundai Opens World’s First Car-Powered Hotel

BUSINESS News

Hyundai has planned to open a hotel in the region of Essex, England that will be powered by its Ioniq 5 electric vehicle. The automobile company shared that this hotel will comprise a luxury cabin, a private cinema, and a restaurant.

The concept of Hotel Hyundai was launched by the automobile company after research commissioned by the company that included 2,000 tourists. The result of the research showed that more than 55 percent tourists shared that the cost-of-living crisis has made them rethink their holiday plans in the future. Around 44 percent will prefer staycations in 2023 compared to 2022. This change in the outlook has been attributed to reasons such as sustainability, supporting local businesses, and a stress-free travel experience.

Grace Dent, curator of Hotel Hyundai, said the highlight of this new hotel is that everything inside, starting from lights to charging points to the shower and kettle, will be powered by the Hyundai Ioniq 5 EV, and its V2L (Vehicle-to-Load) technology.
