Google Donates 30,000 Pixel Phones To Afghanistan and Ukrainian Refugees Arriving In US

Sundar Pichai, chief executive officer of Alphabet has revealed that, the company has donated 30,000 pixel smart phone for the refugees from Afghanistan and Ukraine arriving in the United States.

Among the other things, Sundar Pichai also said that, the company has also contributed 1 million dollar each in the grant funding and also in search advertisements and this donation has been a part of the participation of Sundar Pichai in the Welcome.US CEO Council.

He also said that, the tools such as Google Translate has been helping the refugees communicating with their new communities. The CEO of Google added that, today, they are now donating an additional 20,000 pixel phone to the Welcome.US CEO Council and hence more refugees of Ukraine and Afghanistan can now feel at home in the United States.

So far, the company has donated 30,000 Pixel phone in total and earlier in May 2022, Sundar Pichai had also announced the very first 17 recipients of the Ukraine Support Fund of Google, who is going to be receiving financial support and also mentoring from the company for startups, which is a program that is helping the startups by connecting them with the right practices and people.

Google said that, the 5-million fund is going to help in allocating the equity-free cash awards to the startups of Ukraine all through the year 2022 and the company is also aiming the fund for helping the entrepreneurs of Ukraine in the process of growing and maintaining their businesses.
