Five Must Watch Upcoming Indian Movies in 2023

After the phenomenal success of Pathaan, all doubts about whether Hindi cinema still has the ability to bring audiences to theatres have been put to rest. Now, both trade observers and audiences are anticipating a lavish buffet of entertainers in the months to come.

Bheed:

Anubhav Sinha, who previously directed the sci-fi thriller Ra and the potboiler Dus. One and a romantic drama like Tum Bin have shifted dramatically in recent years to films like Mulk, Thappad, Article 15, and Anek that are serious, reflective, and about social issues. He is back this year with Bheed, a film about social inequality and the power of the individual and the group that provokes thought. Bhumi Pednekar, Rajkumar Rao, Dia Mirza, Pankaj Kapur, and Ashutosh Rana appear in the film.

Bholaa:

This is the second time the director has worked with Dia Mirza, who also starred in Thappad. Bholaa is scheduled to be released on March 24, 2023. It stars Ajay Devgn, Deepak Dobriyan, Tabu, Abhishek Bachan, and Makarand Deshpande. This is Devgn’s fourth directorial effort. It is the Hindi remake of the Tamil hit Kaithi (2019), which was about an ex-convict who tries to connect with his daughter for the first time after being released from prison. The film is anticipated to appeal to a diverse range of viewers due to the abundance of raw emotion, action, and twists triggered by crime and punishment.

Jawan:

After four years, Shah Rukh Khan has released Jawan, a film that may soon become the biggest hit in Hindi cinema history. Now, everyone is watching Jawan, a thriller written and directed by renowned Tamil director Atlee. The film’s main selling point is Shah Rukh Khan’s dual role opposite Tamil superstar Vijay Sethupathi. In addition, Deepika Padukone and Vijay make cameo appearances in Jawan, which also features Nayanthara, Sanya Malhotra, and Priyamani.

The movie is scheduled to open in theaters on June 2, 2023, after making huge waves when it opened in theaters in September 2021.

Animal:

Animal, a gangster-revenge drama helmed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga and starring Ranbir Kapoor, Rashmika Mandana, Tripti Dimri, Anil Kapoor, and Bobby Deol, follows the controversial success of Kabir Singh in 2022. Producer Bhushan Kumar claims that Animal will also portray a surprising dynamic between Anil Kapoor and Ranbir Kapoor. The daring casting of Ranbir Kapoor in a role that has never been seen before has sparked excitement. The movie Animal is supposed to come out on August 11, 2023.

Dunki:

This year, Rajkumar Hirani, who directed Dunki Ace, and Abhijat Joshi, who wrote it, collaborated again on Dunki, a film about Indians who use an illegal backdoor route called Donkey Flight to immigrate to Canada and the United States. The sprawling human drama, the sympathetic direction by Hirani, and a story that has never been told before are also highlights of the film. Dunki will be released on December 22, 2023, and its cast includes Taapsee Pannu, Vicky Kaushal, Boman Irani, Jeremy Wheeler, and Satish Shah, among others.
