Elon Musk Becomes the New CEO of Twitter

BUSINESS TECHNOLOGY

In a filing, Tesla Inc. boss Elon Musk said that he will serve as chief executive of Twitter, which Musk has just bought for 44 billion dollars. This purchase is a move that could stretch Elon Musk thin. After the deal, Elon Musk fired the previous chief executive officer of Twitter, Parag Agarwal, and several other top officials of the company.

In another filing, Elon Musk revealed that he became the sole director of Twitter, and those who were directors of Twitter prior to the takeover, are no longer directors of the company. The top officials fired by Elon Musk include Parag Agarwal, Bret Taylor, David Rosenblatt, Martha Lane Fox, Egon Durban, Mimi Alemayehou, Omid Kordestani, and Fei-Fei Li.

Elon Musk tweeted that this move to remove the board is just temporary without giving any explanation. Elon Musk’s team has started meeting with the employees of Twitter to investigate the software code of the company, and understand how aspects of Twitter work.

Some of the staff also said that they had received little communication from Elon Musk, and were using some news reports to understand what was happening in the company. Twitter has declined to comment on how long Elon Musk will remain CEO of the company or appoint someone else.
