Dominic Thiem Out of Wimbledon Due to Injury on Right Wrist

On Thursday, 24th June 2021, Dominic Thiem, who is world number five tennis player has been pulled out of the Wimbledon because of an injury on the right wrist, that is going to keep Dominic Thiem of action for several number of weeks.

The 27-year-old, Dominic Thiem, had been forced to retire from his opening match at the Mallorca Open, that was scheduled on Tuesday, which had been the first grasscourt event of Austria since a first-round defeat at the Wimbledon before two years.

Dominic Thiem has also been successful in making a solid start against Adrian Mannarino for France for taking a 5-2 lead in the opening set, but he has injured his right wrist in the eighth game before getting retired, and Dominic Thiem said, the medical tests have identified a detachment of the posterior of the side of ulnar of his right wrist, which had been an injury, that is not going to allow Dominic Thiem for competing for several weeks.

Dominic Thiem is going to be wearing a splint for around five weeks before starting the rehabilitation process for regaining the mobility and also the strength of the muscle. Dominic Thiem also said, he is going to be doing everything, that the doctors will tell him to do in order for recovering as quickly as possible.

Dominic Thiem added that, the doctors have informed him that, he might be out of action for several weeks, but he will be doing his best for coming back on the tennis court soon.
