Covid-19 Hospitalization Among Children Increased in the US

Within few weeks, the new Omicron covid-19 variant has been fuelling the thousands of the new corona virus hospitalizations among the children in the United States, which has been raising the new concerns about how many unvaccinated people of the United States, who are above the age of 18 years of age will be faring in the new increase in the corona virus cases.

The average seven-day number of the everyday hospitalizations for the children between 21st December 2021 and 27th December 2021 has been increase by over 58 percent across the country in the previous week to 334 as compared to about 19 percent for all the age groups, as per the data from the US CDC.

According to the US CDC, lesser than 25 percent of the 74 million people of the United States are under the age of 18 years that are vaccinated. The cases of the Omicron covid-19 variant are also expected to increase even faster across the United States as the schools in the country will be re-opened after the winter holidays.

The doctors in the country said that, it is very early for determining whether the Omicron is causing more severe sickness in the children than the other variants of the novel corona virus, but the Omicron covid-19 variant has been highly transmissible and it has been one of the main factor that has been driving up the hospitalizations.
