CDC to Review Its Mask Guidance in US

The administration of Joe Biden, president of the United States has been re-evaluating the guidance on the masks in the light of the decrease in the novel corona virus cases in the recent weeks.

But, the decision is also remained unclear that, whether the government of the United States is also going to put an end to the corona virus public health emergency (PHE), which has been giving the providers some additional flexibilities for tackling the novel corona virus.

Rochell Walensky, head of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) of the United States said, the seven day average of the novel corona virus cases had been around 1,400 per day, which has been a decrease of around 40 percent as compared to the previous week.

Rochelle Walensky said, the omicron covid-19 cases have been declining and they are all cautiously optimistic regarding the trajectory on they are, and she also said, the US CDC has also been looking at the upgradation of the US CDC’s guidance for taking account such kind of the changes, but the caseloads or the deaths are not going to be the only factor.

Rochelle Walenksy added that, they should also consider the capacity of the hospital as additional and important barometer, and their hospitals will need to be able to care of the people suffering from the heart attacks. The US CDC also wants to put in place the proper and right guidance based one the position in which the people are in the covid-19 pandemic.
