CDC Extends Face Mask Requirements To 3Rd May 2022 As Covid-19 Cases Increase In US

On Wednesday, 20th April 2022, the government of the United States announced, it is going to extend the mask requirement for the public transit and air travel across the country for 15 days as the Biden administration is monitoring an increase in the novel corona virus cases in the country.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) of the United States said, it is extending the order, which was set to expire on 18th April 2022 to 3rd May 2022 for the purpose of allowing more time to study and examine in the BA.2 Omicron sub-variant, which is now responsible for most covid-19 cases in the United States.

The US CDC said, in order for assessing the potential impact, the increase of covid-19 cases has on the serious disease, which is including the deaths and hospitalizations, along with the capacity of healthcare system, the US CD order will remain in place.

The US CDC is also hoping to launch out a more flexible face mask strategy that would possibly have replace the transit requirement across the United States. The face mask mandate has been the most visible vestige of the restrictions of US government for controlling the covid-19 pandemic and an increase of the abusive and violent incident on the airplanes have been attributed mostly to cause the disputes over the wearing of face masks.
