Brazil Beats Switzerland to Qualify for Round of 16

Casemiro’s excellent goal was enough to earn Brazil a victory over Switzerland and a spot in the knockout stages of the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar. Brazil’s coach, Tite, had nine forwards on his team, but in the 83rd minute of the game, a defensive midfielder scored.

Casemiro hit the ball brilliantly with the outside of his boot, which took a slight deflection off Switzerland’s defender’s backside. With just one game remaining against Cameroon in the tournament’s group stage, Brazil, the five-time champion of the world, easily advances to the round of 16.

Following a thrilling draw that saw Cameroon and Serbia share a point earlier, Switzerland now sits second in Group G. In order to receive treatment for his right ankle injury, Brazil’s star player Neymar stayed at the team hotel. Neymar’s return to the field has not been reported on by the doctors.

Richarlison, former Watford striker, was added to Brazil’s attack in Neymar’s absence, but he failed to score and was later substituted by Gabriel Jesus in the 74th minute.
