Amazon Becomes Biggest Corporate Buyer of Renewable Energy in US

The company ‘Amazon’ has announced 14 new renewable energy projects across the countries including United States, Spain, Finland and Canada for advancing the ambitious goals of the company to power 100 percent of the company activities with the renewable energy by 2025, which is five years ahead of the actual target of the year 2030.

These new projects of the company ‘Amazon’ will be responsible in bringing the total investments of renewable energy to 10 gigawatts of the production of electricity capacity, which will be enough for powering around 2.5 million homes in the United States, and the company amazon has now been the largest corporate purchaser of the renewable energy in the United States and also in the world.

These energy projects are also going to be helping the company in meeting the commitment of Amazon for producing enough renewable energy for the purpose of covering the electricity that are used by all of the Amazon Echo devices that are currently in use, and these new projects are also going to be supporting the jobs.

Jeff Bezos, CEO and Founder of Amazon said, they are driving very hard for the purpose of fulfilling the climate pledge of the company along with their commitment for reaching the target of net-zero-carbon by 2040. Jeff Bezos added that, their investments in the solar and wind energy in the region of the United States and across the world have been successful in sending a signal that, making investment in the green technologies has been the right thing to be done for the people and also for the world.
