North America has extended its dominance for hiring for machine learning roles among pharmaceutical industry companies in three months ending May 2022. The number of machine learning roles in North America has made up from 62.2 percent in the same quarter last year.

This was followed by Europe, which saw a 0.6 percent year-on-year point change in the roles of machine learning. These new figures are compiled by GlobalData, who tracks the number of new job postings from the main companies in different sectors over time, and these job advertisements are later classified thematically.

The thematic approach to the industry activity seeks to group key company information by topic to see which companies are best placed to weather the disruptions that are coming to the industry. These main themes, which include machine learning, are chosen to cover any issue that causes trouble to the company.

By tracking the themes across the job advertisements, as it allows them to see which companies are now leading the way on specific issues, and which are dragging their heels, and more importantly, where the market is contracting and expanding.
